An addon is simply a cakePHP plugin which is specifically made for cheesecake-photoblog and has a specific file structure and some added functionality. The end user of an addon can install, uninstall, activate and deactivate an addon from the addons screen when logged in as admin. Un-compress the downloaded file
Upload the extracted folder and *all* its contents to the app/plugins/ folder on your server.
Login to your cheesecake installation and navigate to the Addons page - your newly uploaded addon should be visible in the un-installed addons list
Click on Install
Enjoy ← this is the most important step
The name of the extracted should not be changed before or after uploading otherwise it will give rise to unexpected behavior. Also to completely un-install an addon first use the un-install option from the Addons panel and then remove the files from the server
